What is Peyronie’s Disease?

Peyronie’s Disease is a condition that affects a very small percentage of the male population. Approximately 1-5% to be precise. It usually occurs between the ages of 40-60 but no age group is of no exception. It is described as a bending or curvature of the penis. Some more severe than others. Most curvatures cause the penis to bend upward or downward when erect and pain may occur during erection, masturbation, and sexual intercourse. This curvature is caused by a fibrous scar tissue that has formed in a particular region of the penis; the corpora cavernosa to be exact. This hardened plaque is a result of scar tissue damage which is really the body’s defense mechanism attempting to heal itself. That is what most people don’t understand.

The cause is reported to be unknown but these are the said causes: physical trauma, sexually transmitted disease, repeated injury to the penis (particularly during sexual intercourse), and in very very rare cases even dietary supplements may cause Peyronie’s disease. Physical trauma may come from any type of injury to the groin area, weather that be a sports injury, etc. Sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and chlamydia may also cause it. There is also a form penile deviation called congenital (present at birth).

What are the Symptoms?

  • Pain during urination

  • Curvature of the penis

  • Pain during masturbation, sexual intercourse, and/or erection

  • Erectile dysfunction

Treatment

Western doctors usually suggest surgery to remove the fibrous plaque to correct the curvature. Some often suggest waiting one to two years or longer before attempting to correct it. Mild cases rarely need any treatment. There have been attempts made to reduce the angulation with injections of cortisone-like drugs directly but are rarely successful. Success has been prevalent through the use of surgery but the dangers and complications of most operations must be carefully considered and researched before choosing said method. The two most common surgeries causes partial loss of erectile function, especially rigidity, and a shortening of the penis when erect. Milder forms of the disease will heal on its own spontaneously. On average, it will resolve on it’s own between 5-19% of the time. Medication is also available as a treatment option. The FDA has approved the first drug for treating this disease, called Xiaflex. It is said to work by breaking down the scar tissue that causes the curvature.

Alternative Options

Having dealt with Peyronie’s disease personally, I can provide you with some alternatives that might save you a trip to the doctor’s office. I actually developed this condition as of a result an STD. Without any doctor's advice or interference I diagnosed myself with gonorrhea which I explained in a video on YouTube. The pain was almost unbearable. Even then I didn’t panic. This is only theoretical but in my opinion, I developed Peyronie’s disease because I took longer to start natural treatment, the infection (STD) got worse and damaged the cells in my penis causing fibrosis. Enzymes help break down fats carbohydrates, and protein. Each cell in the body uses enzymes for building, maintenance, and repair. They work the same exact way as the pharmaceutical drug called Xiaflex without the adverse side effects, speeding up the healing process simultaneously. MSM sulfur also help the body break down scar tissue damage. Also herbs like Plantain, Comfrey, and Chaparral are very helpful and aiding the body wherever there is damaged tissue.
